Karan Johar Hits Back At Kangana: She Doesn't Know The Meaning Of Nepotism
While last night you and I were discussing his twins- Roohi and Yash, Karan then was in a frank tete-a-tete with Anupama Chopra in the UK talking about Kangana and lots more
Karan Johar had not yet clarified from his heart what he felt were his real thoughts about Kangana Ranaut's remarks about him promoting nepotism in the film industry. Kangana, who appeared in one of the episodes of his chat show Koffee With Karan last month, had called him the "flag-bearer of nepotism" in Bollywood.

"If ever my biopic is made, you'll be the stereotypical Bollywood biggies who is snooty and completely intolerant to outsiders. Flag-bearer of nepotism. The movie mafia," she had exactly said (SEE THE VIDEO ABOVE).
Karan had spoken in this regard to a social media user, during a live chat session on Twitter, who asked 'Was Kangana correct about nepotism?' by simply saying: "Not entirely! She made an impact with her sweeping statements! That was fun... for her! And the show."
But yesterday in London, Karan couldn't hold himself back. In an interview with Anupama Chopra at the London School Of Economics, he finally spoke his heart out when Anupama asked him about Kangana having accused him of "nepotism".
The ace filmmaker responded to Anupama saying that Kangana doesn't seem to know the meaning of nepotism as he has not promoted any of his family members in the industry. He added that he has in fact introduced 13 new directors, most of whom have no Bollywood connections, and so clearly he is not nepotistic.
To name a few, Shakun Batra (Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu) and Karan Malhotra, Ayan Mukherji (Wake Up Sid), Rensil D'Silva (Kurbaan), Tarun Mansukhani (Dostana), Siddhartha Malhotra (We Are Family), Punit Malhotra (I Hate Luv Storys), Sonam Nair (Gippi), Vinil Mathew (Hasee Toh Phasee), Abhishek Varman (2 States), Nitya Mehra (Baar Baar Dekho). A few of them like 2 States (with Sajid Nadiadwala) and Baar Baar Dekho (with Excel Entertainment) had been co-productions, but Karan definitely must have had his share of say in selecting the director. Karan's co-production with Ekta Kapoor Vanity Fair was also supposed to be directed by a newcomer, Akshay Roy.
Last night and then again since this morning, Karan has been in the news for his twins- Roohi & Yash- through surrogacy. Embracing fatherhood, he is clearly in a very happy space. SpotboyE.com wishes him 'Congratulations' once again!
Back to the Anupama Chopra interview at LSE in Houghton Street. It is believed to have been held amidst 75-80 students.
Kangana, have you tuned in?
